Is cycling enough? ๐ฆต๐ฝ
Cycling examples include: Nustep (where you donโt make full revolutions), spin bike, recumbent bike (supported seat with back), e-bike, bicycle etc.
Itโs important to think about intensity ๐ถ
If your goal is to warmup your knee, reduce stiffness and incorporate easier cardio- staying in the lighter intensity may be appropriate โ
If your goal is leg strengthening, increasing the intensity is important. The goal is to exert more effort, challenge your muscles and aim for the 5-7 range when it comes to difficulty ๐๐ฝ
Cycling can elicit muscle strengthening in the legs which is vital to support the knees and hips especially with arthritis.
It is important to remember variety is key and mixing it up can be beneficial to get well rounded muscle strength โ๐ฝ
Also, if cycling doesnโt feel good- there are tons of other ways to strengthen your legs so keep that in mind!
